Illinois House of Representatives

Mavis and I have been friends for almost twenty years.  I have always been impressed with her spirit of service to our community.  We worked together on the first Aurora GreenFest in 2011, where I saw how dedicated Mavis is to improving our quality of life in the Fox Valley.  She has volunteered thousands of hours to our city, always taking on roles with more and more responsibility.   These have always been volunteer duties, with no reward except to see our community thrive.

I know that Mavis will do a great job on the Kane County Board.  Her experience as a business woman, a manager at Lucent Technologies, and as a commissioner for the Fox Valley Park District, will make her ready on her very first day to serve you and Kane County.

I will be endorsing Mavis Bates for Kane County Board district #4. There are a few reasons for my endorsement but the one that I feel most passionate about is her support for funding a sound barrier on Orchard road to replace the fencing that is currently there.
